Making mannequins an unlikely business in Egyptian village

AL-KHARQANIYAH, Egypt (AP) — There is an unlikely industry thriving in a village north of Cairo: The making of mannequins.

The use of mannequins in Egypt dates back to the early years of the last century, when Jewish-owned department stores imported them to display Western attire sold to expatriates and wealthy Egyptians.

Soon afterward, Egyptians took up the manufacturing of mannequins. The industry's birthplace was Cairo, and 85-year-old Hosni Faris is recognized as a local pioneer. It later moved to the village of al-Kharqaniyah, where nearly 15 workshops produce them, employing dozens of workers.

Career Mom Dilemmas

Becoming a mom can be a very special moment in a woman's life. Whether she gives birth to a iris garden my dinh child herself, or adopts, the role of being a mother is du an iris garden important one, and having a child often forces moms to face the biggest dilemma of their life, work or stay home? This can be a big decision, and there are a lot of factors that come into play for why it is such a difficult decision iris garden to make. Let's look at a few of these:

1. Money. The world is expensive, and most families feel like they can't make ends meet off a single income. With the cost of taxes, groceries, gas, homes, etc. so high, most families rely on the income mom brings in. The decision to stay home often means a big cut in pay, thus lifestyle. For some, it is not a question of whether the family will eat prime rib or hot dogs, but whether they will eat at all.

2. The balancing act. Many moms want to do both, but often this means spreading themselves so thin that they are not doing either job particularly well. It is difficult to be a good employee when you are worrying about diapers, nap schedules, etc. and it is difficult to be a good mom when you have client meetings, deadlines, and so on.

3. The guilt. Most moms get some satisfaction out of working. It helps them be a contributor to the finances in the family. It allows them to be a career professional, and not just a mommy. However, many moms feel guilty that they enjoy being at work, and are missing out on some of the events and milestones in their child's life. Many moms worry that a sitter or nanny is raising their children. This causes guilt, and guilt can cause stress.

4. The tedium. Many women have college degrees, and have spent many years in the work force being appreciated for their knowledge and skill. It is very gratifying to feel needed and important in your job. When you stay home as a mom, it is often a thankless job. Your kids do not often show gratitude for the many hours you clean, cook, and care for them. Many husbands do not seem to recognize the amount of time and work it takes to keep the home in order and the kids organized and busy. This can be difficult for a mom who has been in a career where they were appreciated. It can make being a stay at home mom tedious and frustrating.

5. The ostracizing. If you are a working mom, you often find that you and your children get left out of invitations, etc. because you work. If you are a stay at home mom, you feel like working moms do not feel you can relate. Basically there becomes a divide. This can be hard for moms to cross.

Deciding whether to work or stay home, work part time, work full time, or not work at all is a dilemma for many mommies. Some moms think they want to stay home then find that they struggle with the never ending work and non-existent appreciation stay at home moms get. They crave the different fulfillment you get from a job with a paycheck. There is no right or wrong answer to whether or not you should stay home. There are advantages to both. This is a decision you have to make on your own.

What it's like backcountry skiing in Jackson Hole Wyoming

Powder and beauty abound in the Wyoming backcountry.Alexei OreskovicNo lift lines, no expensive lift tickets and miles of un-tracked powder.

If that sounds like no ski resort you've ever heard of, that's because it's not a ski resort.

It's backcountry "skinning" — a type of skiing that combines the intense physical conditioning of running, the beauty of hiking and the adrenaline of downhill skiing.

As a downhill, or Alpine, skier, I've done almost all of chung cu iris garden my dinh skiing at resorts and have only visited the backcountry on a few occasions. But I decided to give it a go while I was in Wyoming for the holidays this year.

It's not an easy activity to do — given the risk of avalanches in the backcountry, going with an experienced guide is highly recommended (you shouldn't even consider going backcountry on your own if you don't know what you're doing). And you need to be in good enough shape to be able to get yourself up the mountain without the benefit of a chairlift.

I'm not exactly in exemplary shape, so — aside from the fear of an avalanche — chung cu iris garden my dinh biggest concern was whether I'd be capable of completing the journey.

The climb was even more grueling and exhausting than I expected. But the great thing about backcountry skinning is that the experience is so amazing, you keep pushing yourself. And the payoff is unforgettable.

Keep Heating Bills Low With Heating Services In Riverside County

Winter is just around the corner, and with it comes the holidays, winter breaks, and rising heating bills. Here in southern California, we are especially used to the rising utility bills every month. While the kids may be enjoying the break from the summer heat, us adults are having to deal with the price of keeping us, and our kids, warm indoors. But what if I told you that you could keep warm during the cold months without having to pay an arm and a leg for it? Read on for some great tips on keeping your utility bill down.

One of the easiest ways to help keep costs down this winter is to watch your thermostat level. Sounds pretty simple, huh? By keeping the thermostat down to about 73-75 degrees you can see drastic improvement on your heating bill. Another tip that follows quite well with this is to not overuse your heater. Don't leave it running while you're not home and don't leave it running when it doesn't need to be. If it's just a few degrees cooler than you would like, try wearing a sweater or some socks.

So, you have done all you can do on your end to make sure you're using your heater as efficiently as possible this winter season. What now? Is that all there is to it? Nope, not even close. The next step, now that you have the right idea on how to move forward with efficiently using your heating system, is to get in touch with a qualified and reputable heating service company. Have them come out and look over your current system to make sure that it is up to current standards and is running correctly. Also have them take a look at your air ducts, since they may be in need of a good cleaning. Having a well cleaned and obstruction-free air ducts will help both your heating and cooling system function just as good while using less energy.

Heating services in Riverside County have been rated as some of the best in all of Southern California for their customer service and satisfaction. This isn't always the case, though, so you need to be sure to do a little bit of research to make sure you have chosen the right company for you. Han said swimming in the Lavie was one of many unforgettable memories of his trip to northern Vietnam earlier this year, as the water was fresh and clean in the stream which ran from rocks and hills where a few minority groups live. Young citizens of Lao Cai Province Vietnam and foreign tourists often trek to Ban Ho to indulge in the pristine Lavie Stream, enjoy the sweet sound of running water from the Ca Nhay Waterfalls and other natural attractions of the tranquil village.

The Lavie Stream, together with Muong Hoa Stream, weaves through boulders, hills, mountains and terraced paddy fields of Tay village, which is nestled in the breathtaking Valley Muong Hoa, adding the finishing touch to the picturesque image of Ban Ho Sapa.

Even though Ban Ho is not too far from the center of Sapa Vietnam not many tourists have visited the village because of the tough approach road, which is under construction and slippery in the rainy season.

However, the village is also accessible by driving from Sapa to Su Pan Village and then trekking 10 kilometers to Ban Ho. Topas is one of a number of tour operators who offer this one-day package, with cost determined by the number of participants.

Ban Ho Village, Ban Ho is worth the somewhat difficult journey to get there, as the village rewards visitors with stunning views of unspoiled sites and an opportunity to discover the daily activities of the ethnic people Tay.

On the way to the waterfalls, which were named by locals after seeing fish jumping out of the water in the old days, visitors will pass brooks gently running down bamboo cylinders that locals use to channel the water into their terraced paddy fields, wooden houses perched on the sides of rolling hills and wild flowers.

When they emerge from the water in the dry season the boulders and stones along the Lavie Stream are artworks that resemble different figures, depending on the imagination of viewers. In the rainy season from May till September visitors can see water flowers created by the splashing water running into the boulders.

The trails and roads from Ban Ho also lead to the quiet Red Dao Village of Nam Toong and other ethnic communities, where trekkers can enjoy the best of Northern Vietnam, such as deep valleys, chung cu iris garden my dinh amazing mountains and simple people.

Motorcycles can be hired in Sapa at US$5 a day to travel to chung cu iris garden the Muong Hoa Valley, where more than 200 stones have been discovered, all carved with simple and complicated images of different patterns, as well as scenic villages of ethnic groups.

Alternatively, package tours that take in Ban Ho and other unspoiled corners of the areas around Sapa can be arranged through Topas, or other travel companies in Sapa Vietnam.
